When a painting returns to the place that inspired it...

I swim under this tree most days and look up at its incredible root system as it clings on to the red Devon cliffs. It is an anchor point and a place of reflection for many as they stand on the cliff top looking out over the Exe estuary.

Like this old holm oak, my paintings take root in a place and then grow onto the board. The strokes of paint, layer upon layer, build memory upon memory in the calmest of ways.

If you are looking for a sense of calm in your home this one may just be it as it will encourage you to slow yourself and look outwards to the light.
