About Me
I am a semi-abstract acrylic painter and print-maker based in East Devon. The colours and the textures that I use are those that I see around me as I sit and paint on the foreshore of the Exe, in Devon or wander across Dartmoor. The light on the water and the tors is ever changing and it is this which makes them such interesting and inspiring places to be. My art is intrinsically linked to the natural world.

Layer upon layer of colour and texture form as the light plays on them. As I swim and walk, I embrace the nature around me, especially the birds flying overhead. Through my art, I try to recreate the sense of peace I feel when in nature. I love working en plein air and usually have my dog Joey beside me when out and about. As I work, in my mind, I am always in or near the water.

I am interested in the relationship between art and well-being and love to run creative art workshops in the Seaglass Gallery, which is my small independent art gallery in the estuary-side village of Lympstone in Devon. It is a very special place. On Instagram I am @ontheforeshoreartist so if you want to come on my art journey with me, do follow me there.
